Growing up in the city of Detroit, I struggled to find my identity. Throughout my teenage years I was on a journey of self discovery but often find myself stuck. My parents enrolled me into summer camps, and after school programs to keep myself busy and sociable but sadly, l always felt like I didn't belong. Also, I wanted a mentor but failed to realize that I had mentors all around me who were teachers, friends and family. These mentors encouraged and supported my dreams and goals. As a result of my experience, I realize there are girls out there who are like me. These girls suffer from isolation, low self esteem, and want a sense of belonging. After graduating from Michigan State University receiving my MSW in 2018. I decided to relocate to Chicago to pursue my career as an LSW. By doing so, my passion for people has evolved and it allowed me to create a safe space for young girls. I started this organization because I believe that girls should be uplifted and inspired by someone who resembles themselves. It's my desire that these girls dream big and are inspired no matter their circumstance. It's my mission to help girls like me evolve, grow and become role models for the next generation.
